SMoCA Mix: TECH Sublime (Scottsdale, Arizona)

Choose your boldest and brightest cyber chic attire to wear to Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art’s annual fundraiser, SMoCA Mix 2017: TECH Sublime. This year’s event provides an evening of interactive technology and media with an artistic perspective. Collaborating artists: Squidsoup, an international artists collective based in the United Kingdom; Los Angeles-based new media performance artist Tiffany Trenda; and Synthesis Center, David Tinapple and Charis Elliot from the School of Arts, Media and Engineering, a collaborative initiative between the ASU Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts and the ASU Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering. Also on display: Nam June Paik’s 1992 work Electro-Symbio Phonics, a​​ landmark video and neon sculpture featuring three robot figures containing 61 TV monitors and four neon panels depicting symbols of human communication, technology and biology.​

All guests will experience SmoCA transformed by artist-driven technology and new media.
