The Next Generation Of Wearables & Fashion-Tech (Portland, Oregon)

Portland is poised to lead the next generation of Wearables & Fashion Tech?

Join us for an evening sponsored by FashionXT and The Startup Brand featuring industry leaders discussing Wearable technology and how Portland can lead based in this exciting new innovation..

Our regional expertise positions us with the skill and passion with industry leaders in:

Athletic-wear and Fashion

The industry is a robust world leader with companies like Nike, Adidas, Columbia, Under Armor, Sorel, Icebreaker, Nau, and many, many more, who deploys highly technical methods in their making. Our commitment to the craft of apparel is evident on the independent designers recognized in national competition time and time again like Project Runway. They represent a premier talent and resource pool with deep understanding of human psyche regarding what they put on their body.

There are two sides of the technology coin in Hardware and software and Portland has world leaders with manufacturers like Intel, FLIR, Planar and WaferTech and software innovators that represent incredible programming talent like Urban Airship, Jama Software, Elemental, Puppet Labs and so many more. For example, Urban Airship invented Push technology forms a key enabler of e-commerce, and Elemental being acquired by Amazon is a testament of the superiority its video decoding technology for e-commerce.

Medicine and Medical Research
OHSU is a world leader in Medical care and research. Cambia Health Solutions is one of the largest Venture funds on the west coast innovating health information, medical care and understanding our relationship to wellbeing and care. OHSU, bolstered by huge cash infusion, got major focus on wearable technology for medical use.

The next generation of wearables, e-retail and fashion-tech draws from the thought leadership and collaboration in these three sectors. But we can’t do it without learning and investigating the possibilities together.

Because of the aforementioned alignment, we believe no other city in the world is currently poised to lead in the burgeoning wearables, e-tail and fashion-tech. But it will take developing new connections, new paradigms and a much deeper understanding of possibility. We have to act with a sense of urgency; apparel, footwear, wellness and medical encompass markets valued at several trillion dollars.

To give you a perspective of the urgency and stake, just in last few months, Under Armour, a company of $4B in annual sales, invested $1B in wearable technology hardware and apps.

The panel consitutes of the world class entreprenuers and innovators who created cutting edge wearable and fashion-tech solutions with global collaborations:
