Bains Numériques 2016 (Paris, France)

International Biennial of Digital Arts

The 9th edition of the Bains numeriques biennial takes part in the 350th anniversary of the Academy of Science and proposes a crossing in the nearby worlds of art and sciences.

During the biennial, Enghien-les-Bains becomes a city where various artistic and scientific visions and imaginations merge. Once more, the biennial attempts to offer to its visitors a path of installations, exhibitions, live performances and concerts all through the city: lake, streets, squares and station. From places of the daily life revisited, the public will be transported in new living areas and venues.

Increased reality, imaginary mappings, immersive spaces, the works presented during these 5 days proposes us new perceptive paradigms. Our representation is modified, that of our body at first, then of the city and the world. By moving the physical marks, immersing in a mental space and experimenting new sensory strategies, the proposed artistic performances will be in connection with the scientific imagination, in particular that of the cognitive sciences..

Bardula at Art Paris 2016 (Paris, France)

Since the end of 2015, Bardula has been represented by Swiss gallery La Ligne, which will be making its fourth appearance at Art Paris. From 31 March to 3 April 2016, the gallery will show Bardula’s work for the first time at this unmissable contemporary art fair, held annually in the Grand Palais.

Bardula’s exhibited artworks by Galerie La Ligne will feature ‘Dôme’:

Bardula 2015
Presented as the central work, it is a luminous, translucent structure that seems to emerge from nothingness and, at the same time, to lose itself in infinity, in a perspective that could as easily be monumental as microscopic. This crystallization evokes a mineral structure that could serve as a model for a spatial construction, an architecture suspended in the void. The work draws into an intense density of light a diaphanous delicacy, producing a majestic visual poetry imbued with unexpected serenity.

Bardula 2015

The work examines, on the basis of a mathematical, geometric framework, the relationship between colour, form and light reflection, and volume presented in perspective.

The construction accentuates the sense of space, while the arrangement of virtual volumetric figures provides interaction between internal and external space: it becomes a visual perception, an image establishing a dialogue between surface and depth.

The use of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) with variable values, magnified by their reverberation in matter, alters the perception of the whole and creates a synergy between form and light.

Temps d’Images 2015 (Paris, France)

The network of the performing and moving image arts

Initiated in 2002 by ARTE and La Ferme du Buisson, Scène nationale de Marne-la-Vallée, TEMPS D’IMAGES was originally created out of the observation of one issue in particular: the worlds of moving image and performing arts are not separate, but interact constantly wherever technology is used as a bridge rather than a boundary. So what new ways can we find to articulate and build on the relationship between performance and moving image in this contemporary artistic landscape where the borders between art forms are increasingly blurred? The TEMPS D’IMAGES festival was created to respond to this question and its innovative themes have rapidly won over numerous venues in Europe. From 2003, TEMPS D’IMAGES has developed into a European network. Through its commitment to the policy of production, TEMPS D’IMAGES has played an active role in developing the potential for creative exchange and collaboration between the performing arts and the moving image.
