XCEED – Resonance Aura series at Fukuoka Asian Art Museum (Japan)

On view now until March 21, 2017

Energy Chamber: Resonance Aura from XCEED on Vimeo.

The exhibition introduces edition zero of Resonance Aura with 2 other kinetic works. Each instrument moves at different speeds and produces three solfeggio frequencies (194.18Hz, 741Hz, and 852Hz) to summon psychological energy. The works were created by crossing the boundaries of machine engineering, Eastern philosophy, and Western music and drew from ancient and contemporary ideas. The audience will flow through an ambiguous flicker created through the persistence of lights and a mellow stream of sound.

Color Commons on Rose Kennedy Greenway (Boston, Massachusetts)

It’s back and on display through Winter 2017!

Color Commons from New American Public Art on Vimeo.

Color Commons is a responsive installation by New American Public Art that invites passersby to change the color of The Greenway’s twelve 24-foot tall Light Blades that line the Wharf District parks (between State Street and India Street) via text message. As an added element of intrigue throughout the installation, in addition to texting colors, the public can solve a cipher and text the decoded message to the Light Blades. The cipher – a simple letter substitution puzzle – will be posted on-site. By texting the correct message, the visitor will be rewarded with an unexpected color show.

‘Surface’ Interactive Light Sculpture (Perth, Australia)

“Surface” is an interactive light sculpture by Geoffrey Drake-Brockman. It is a 3D LED matrix – one of the largest in the world at 10m long and with over 16,000 individually controlled pixels. Surface is permanently installed at the Perth Children’s Hospital. It behaves like an inverted pond of water,.. each time a pedestrian walks underneath it they “throw a stone” into it, causing ripples to fan out across its virtual water surface.
